The Keyna JazzFolk concerts at Compton Dando village hall are hosted on the first Friday of every month by John Hooper, jazz pianist and vocalist, Helen James, guitarist and singer and Ali Nourse, fiddler, with their special guests invited from the worlds of jazz, folk and classical music. The concerts provide an evening of musical excellence in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with special cameo
performances highlighting new young talent. All profits are donated to charity with the grand total so far standing at £2388.50.

Due to sell out evenings and the need for a bigger venue, the Keyna JazzFolk concerts at Compton Dando will be moving to Camerton village hall from the first Friday of September 2008, Friday 5th September.

Fri 2nd May: Claude Bourbon A breathtaking acoustic fusion of Blues, Jazz,
Folk, Classical and Spanish guitar from a stunning guitar virtuoso. "One of the most
accomplished acoustic players around" Blues in Britain at Compton Dando village
hall. Hosted with music from Three Piece Suite.

Fri 6th June: Top jazz fusion with celtic roots from Sensorium. Piano, bass,
saxophone and guitar. Led by composer of Gregory's Girl theme tune, Colin Tully
on saxophone, the five piece band includes Paul Bradley on guitar and vocal
improvisations, John-paul gard on keyboard, Duncan Kingston on bass and Henry
Shaftoe on drums and percussion at Compton Dando village hall. Hosted with
music from Three Piece Suite.

Fri 4th July: The Katya Gorrie Duo Celebrated TV Canadian jazz singer and
actress Katya Gorrie with her duo partner superb jazz guitarist, Denny Ilett. Katya
has toured in Canada, the US and Europe performing at jazz festivals, clubs and
theatres to enthusiastic audiences. Katya has worked in film and television as both
a singer and an actor at Compton Dando village hall. Hosted with music from Three
Piece Suite.

Fri 1st Aug: The Rod Kelly Jazz Trio Superb piano jazz and blues from this
most accomplished experienced and well travelled professional trio. Intelligent,
entertaining, foot tapping melodic jazz with a classic line up of double bass and
drums at Compton Dando village hall. Hosted with music from Three Piece Suite.

Fri 5th Sept: Three Piece Suite, dynamic jazz and folk trio with John Hooper on
jazz piano and vocals, Helen James on guitar and vocals and Ali Nourse on fiddle
at Camerton Community Centre (signposted Camerton Recreation Centre)

Fri 3rd Oct: The Frances Butt Trio: Smooth and sophisticated jazz with
stunning vocals from Frances Butt with Knud Stuwe on guitar, Lizzy Steward on
bass and Henry Shaftoe on drums at Camerton Community Centre (signposted
Camerton Recreation Centre). Hosted with music from Three Piece Suite.

Fri 14th Nov: Pedalmania with Ben Waghorn: sophisticated jazz from this
talented trio with John-paul Gard on Hammond B3 organ, Ben Waghorn on
saxophone and Eddie John on drums at Camerton Community Centre
(signposted Camerton Recreation Centre). Hosted with music from Three Piece
Suite.

Fri 5th Dec: Keith Warmington and Stuart Gordon: virtuoso blues harmonica
player, singer, guitarist and Radio celebrity Keith Warmington “a much in demand,
jaw droppingly good harmonica player”, accompanied by Stuart Gordon on violin,
for an evening of first class entertainment at Camerton Community Centre
(signposted Camerton Recreation Centre). Hosted with music from Three Piece
Suite.
